Plot is Not Real

March 10 - April 7, 2026

Tuesdays 12pm

This craft course meets weekly over zoom, and each lecture is recorded. If you can’t attend the live lectures at 12pm, you are warmly invited to still register and gain access to the recordings the same week!

Over five weeks, we’ll learn alternative approaches to outlining, conceptualizing, and planning a novel. We’ll look at new diagrams for imagining character arcs and relationships. Setting aside common and over-simplified ideas of plotting, authors in this course will instead develop their own unique and complex approach organizing their novels.

By the end of this craft course, you’ll be armed with your own new theory of ‘plot,’ and new confidence and direction in your fiction projects. This is a theory-focused course, and goes well when paired with the practical applications of OUTLINES class.
